Ramp access for vehicles airside
Bringing a vehicle onto the apron to reach the aircraft directly. Access is controlled by the airport, not the handler: entry is limited to authorised staff and registered vehicles holding specific permits, and many airports do not allow it at all.
What to specify when you ask
Handlers consistently say enquiries arrive missing the same details. Include these and you will usually get a firm price first time rather than a round of questions.
- Whether you need the vehicle at the aircraft steps or at the terminal door
- Vehicle registration and driver details, usually needed in advance
- Passenger names, where an escort is required
- How much notice the airport needs for an airside permit
Request a quote and these are the fields you will be asked for.
Where handlers have confirmed this
No handler has confirmed ramp access for vehicles airside yet. That does not mean nobody offers it — most handlers on the platform have not told us what they do. Ask them directly and we will record the answer.
